The Blonde Girl from the Old Navy Commercials

A blog devoted to the blonde cutie with the impish voice who sings in the Christmas 2004 Old Navy commercials.

Her Real Name?

From a thread on the f.u.b.a.r Forums, a user has discovered from this article that the blonde girl from the Old Navy commercial's real name is probably Lauren Hastings. Now it's time to scour the web to find some more pictures of her...

Also from the same forum, a user has posted downloadable versions of the television commercials. The attic, bakery, bowling alley, cafe, grocery store, and pantry movies in Quicktime format can be viewed by clicking on the links.

Looks like she was in Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" video. http://www.wobpictures.com/details.php?image_id=7953, and possibly http://www.clipland.com/Stills/701006366.

    She's probably 20 now. http://www.britneynews.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20&sid=075a5dad59fc23b03de82c85af916e03.

Amazing! I have been seeing the commercials and I fixate on the blonde (Laura Hastings -- who has one acting credit for the O'Keefes).

So I figures I would do a Google to see if anyone else is and I'm amazed to find dozens of sites DEVOTED to her. Glad I'm not alone!

She rocks and is so damn cute!

  • At 5:43 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

    Yeesh, you're all wrong.

The girl's name is Devon and she's repped by a smaller agency here in LA. She's also married, though I believe she's only 23 years old.

  • At 7:26 AM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

Maybe good news, doing some more wed checking and found that someone (maybe her) has taken the her name and locked it up. (ie www.LaurenHastings.com) Maybe her agent saw the light. Note: the agents wed site dose not work.

  • At 10:11 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

That's because - if any of you would listen to me - her agent doesn't have a website. Maybe Lauren Hastings' agent does, but the blonde girl in the Old Navy commercials isn't Lauren Hastings.

For those of you who aren't aware Adweek is more of a fan site of commercials than anything else; as so, they're frewuently wrong in the information they post. Attributing someone named "Lauren Hastings" to the Old Navy ads is par for the course; that's not her name.

Frankly, if I were her agent I'd be a little worried about "promoting" her client myself - a lot of you people have taken a completely unhealthy interest in her and none of you are going to put her in another commercial. The people who can help her career rather than obsess about her over the internet can find out who she is whenever they like. The real downside is that you're now pestering the people who work for a completely different person.

  • At 4:28 PM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

If this is all true them why not give it up. If you know the facts tell us. How do we know the information you have it correct. I know, fans are just bad. But what you say is true. People have never made it big because of internet hipe. It would never get there names is the press. I also know that the people who would put her in another commercial do not use the internet. Is that the best hope of her agent another commercial. Can she act, maybe sing. I know the information I have was by the people who made the commercial.

But I would never say that the information I was given by the above is true. If you know how they are, then you know that getting the fact right is not what they do best.

I will say this, when I contacted Hastings agent she did not say she was not the girl. So whats up with that! If she would have told me that. I would have posted that as a fact.

"Unhealthy Interest" I think what I said above should deal with this. So you are not a fan to anyone and would not like to know more about them? A fan base is part of what happens. If she thinks the same way you do, then I do not want to know anything about her.

  • At 7:38 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

First of all, did I single you specifically? Relax.

Second of all, I posted all the information about her that I'M comfortable letting people know: her name is Devon, she's 23 and she's married. I'm sure she'll be just fine without the Internet hype - she's already had several offers for movies and TV.

So that's all I need to say: you all have the wrong girl. And the only reason I said it is so that no one pesters the wrong girl or her agent.

I must confess, I too was drawn to this beautiful blonde (unknown name) in the Old Navy commercials. I was even more surprised to see a website dedicated to her. As a Research Psychologist (w/ an emphasis on Marketing Research), I am shocked to learn the manager of this up and coming actress refuses to release any information about her. A website dedicated to her is great exposure, especially with as many "hits" this website has produced. Nevertheless, the marketing consultants for Old Navy did very well selecting her as a member for the commercials. I hope to see more of this aspiring young actress.

  • At 11:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

You're shocked to learn that a manager would be unwilling to give up personal information about one of his/her clients to one (or many) anonymous person(s) for a non-industry, blog-level fansite of questionable origin based on an (or many) unsolicited phone call(s)? It makes sense that a compitent manager would just give information to anyone that had the whimsy to call and ask, good reason or no. Especially when the information is going to be posted on an anonymous site run by someone who calls themself only "Webmaster".

You're right - what an insufferable jerk that manager must be, disassociating their client from a "fanbase" that doesn't even have the right girl. Shocking indeed. Keep up with that Marketing Research.

  • At 11:46 PM, Blogger Webmaster said…

I just want to point out I've never contacted her manager (whomever it is) and I won't post the information on this page for people that want it. A blog is one thing, but making long distance calls and actually having to pay money for this silly little site is taking things to a whole other level.

  • At 9:54 AM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

Ok, I am relaxing. First, if you are given the right name thanks. I am not attacking you, I am making a point that her agent should have just said that I am not asking about the rights person (PC). I gave the agent my name and telephone. I also give her the wed site I was going to post the information on. So I was not annoymous to her. The cost of the call, free.

I think that the points I would make here where made by Joe MacFadden. I have stated how I got my facts.

  • At 10:27 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I like the fact that they guy singles you out for being called "webmaster". Like thats not the title of every person running a website in the western hemisphere.

  • At 12:19 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

This girl is cute, for sure. But I have to admit, as many times as I've seen the spots, I never paid attention, blinded by the bad concept. Oh, Deutsch, why do you hurt us so?

  • At 2:31 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Okay...so seriously...now I don't feel so damn strange for making everybody in the room shut up and move away from the tv when these commercials come on. She's hot, has a little sex appeal to her, and still seems to be the type of girl you'd have no problem introducing to mom. I'm not running out to buy anymore "performance fleece" than usual because of her...but I'm damn sure paying more attention to their product. Somebody put this hottie on tv more often.

  • At 8:13 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

"Unhealthy interest?" What the h*ll? Talk about overreacting. So we think she's hot and want to know more about her, that is unhealthy? You've got to be kidding me. It's completely normal! I haven't read any posts here where anyone is wanting to know where she lives or propose marriage to her so lighten up.

  • At 10:25 AM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

So new here we are still not knowing if we have the right girl or if her agent don't want anyone to know who she is. You go get them agent, bad bad internet people

  • At 5:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Whoever the guy is that is supposedly 'safeguarding' the girl's information should get a clue. She is an actress/model, and their business is to get their name and likeness out there, everywhere. Posting her first and last name and any bio info could only *help*, not hurt, her career. IMDB would not exist if this sorry individual made the rules.

BTW, I don't believe that he actually has anything of value to safeguard.

  • At 6:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

First of all, moron, I'm not "safeguarding" anything. She might want all the information she can get out the to get out there; the issue is that it's not for me to tell, so I told only what I was comfortable saying, a fact that I stated clearly beforehand.

I can tell you have nothing to do with the entertainment industry. The job of an actor, actress, agent or manager is not merely to "get as much information as possible out there". What do you suppose would happen if you called up Angelina Jolie's agent and said, "What information do you have? I want to post it on a website." Think about it. A little Blogspot website is not going to be the difference between this girl getting a huge movie role or not, and if you think otherwise you're either clueless or deluding yourself. PR people get paid to release the right info at the right time.

If such wasn't the case, why didn't the agent for Laura Hastings give up info to the guy who called? If it's his/her job to get all information out there that's possible, why not give a bank of facts to a random caller? Could it be because it was an anonymous fan with no industry connections? Or could it possibly be because she's NOT the girl in the commercial? I'm not going to suggest that the person who called was in any way intending to stalk this person, but do you have any idea how tight the anti-stalker laws are in California? An agent can be held accountable for giving out personal information regarding a client (sometimes even as little as a birthdate) to someone "just looking for information".

So get a clue. It's not that people are curious for information - it's the way people are going about it that's a bit touchy. Oh and, I should add, they've also tracked down the wrong person.

  • At 7:50 PM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

This is not what I was going after. Bad name calling, but this is the internet. I as the caller, would like to say that just to test your statement about Angelina Jolie's agent. I called and was emailed a Bio and fact statement. She did tell that most if not all of the information was on the net. She did ask that I not post information on her child.

Yes the call was free. I did get the email with the information above. But I have no interest in her (Angelina Jolie).

Now this girl in the old navy ad is very nice to just look at. After reviewing the ad's I may not want to hear her talk.

One more time, her agent is not doing her job. Other(s) have said what I was thinking.

  • At 8:01 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Oh Jesus, fine, perhaps Angelina Jolie's agent is a bad example, though I'm horrfied that you took the time to find and call her. The point I'm trying to make, which none of you can seem to get through your heads, is that you're bothering the agent and searching all over the Internet for God knows how long for information about the wrong girl. Now I'm afraid you'll find the right girl's agent and bother her for info as well.

    Good luck though.

  • At 8:57 AM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

I'm am sorry that you are horrifed that you would make a statement and no one check the facts. Here is comes, But all the information who is who agent is online if you know where to check. I hope you know that I did not talk to her agent. I talk to someone in the office.

OK, the internet is all about the movement of information with out making the call by everyone. What are you looking at this page for. You wanted to know what is going on. So do we. I myself am not looking for her address and telephone number nor would I post that information if someone sent it to me. (nor would I call her) I would call her agent and ask for bio. So that I could post the information. The agent could be up with the times and have a web site.

I would post bio and fact information. If we are talking about the wrong girl, just think about all the free press she is getting.

I just want to thank you for posting you points. I may not agree with it but I do think that it should be said. I have to say that I am not always right.

  • At 2:52 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Fat Bastard is right; the other guy has no idea how publicity works. Someone out there with a commercial interest in the girl but without the proper contacts might be searching the web right now to find out who she is. He would come across this site and find that not even a fansite devoted to her can say for sure who she is. Is that the type of protection an aspiring model/actress wants? No way. Her fleeting popularity may be being squandered with every day that goes by because she doesn't have the right people running things to take advantage of the situation.

  • At 3:12 PM, Blogger Fat Bastard said…

He put it better then I did. They are not going to run the ad's now.

  • At 4:01 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

To "Devon's" protector: You don't think that Hollywood producers check the Internet to see who is hot and who is not? Of course they do. If her agent were to just give out name and maybe a few headshots, it would help her career immmensely. And if she were to land a role her following would translate into a few thousand extra viewers. That's a good thing. It's true that an actress risks being bugged by stalkers but, I'm sorry to say, that's a risk that comes with the business. Britney Spears has the same problem.

  • At 5:05 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I'm glad you guys are telling me what's what. I forgot that I work in entertainment and you don't, so I must know nothing.

Again, I'm not protecting anyone and I'll go back to one of my original points: why didn't Laura Hastings' agent give you any information? If that's how the entertainment world works...

But you people believe what you want - you're all clearly geniuses who couldn't even figure out the right girl in the commercial.

    I did my best.

Apparently not how to manage rock groups if you're going to get excited about a cookie-cutter blog about the wrong band.

There is no way this person claiming to be in the entertainment industry is truly in that industry. He/she keeps making a big deal about people wanting to know this girl's name like it's confidential information. Hello? There is no reason to withhold a name - and your idiotic Angelina Jolie example proves my point! We do know her name you moron! If someone asks for this girl's address, yes, that's private; names are not. Now go back to screwing up the career of whoever it is you manage.

  • At 2:16 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Flame me however you want - I never claimed to be a manager, and I am in the industry. Whether or not you wsant to believe that is of little consequence to me. The point I'm trying to make it that it's wrong to badger the agent of and root for information for a girl that's not even in the goddamn commercial, moron. Which is exactly what you assholes are doing.

And you're all getting creepy now...so I'll leave it at that.

Help me Dude, I think I'm lost..... I was searching for Elvis and somehow ended up in your blog, but you know I'm sure I saw him in a car lot yesterday, which is really strange because the last time I saw him was in the supermarket. No honest really, he was right there in front of me, next to the steaks singing "Love me Tender". He said to me (his lip was only slightly curled) "Boy, you need to get yourself a San Diego cosmetic surgery doctor ,to fit into those blue suede shoes of yours. But Elvis said in the Ghetto nobody can afford a San Diego plastic surgery doctor. Dude I'm All Shook Up said Elvis. I think I'll have me another cheeseburger. Then I'm gonna go round and see Michael Jackson and we're gonna watch a waaaay cool make-over show featuring some Tijuana dentists on the TV in the back of my Hummer. And then he just walked out of the supermarket singing. . . "You give me love and consolation,
You give me strength to carry on " Strange day or what? :-)

The "blonde" girl from the Old Navy commercials name is Kristin Chenoweth. She was "Glinda" in the original Broadway cast of Wicked. I think "All that I am" is her current album and the photo on the cover is the same look she is using in the commercials. She has a phenomenal singing voice and did some work for E! on the red carpet which is why Old Navy did a spoof on jeans on the red carpet.

  • At 2:09 PM, Blogger whosthatblonde said…

OK, being a big Kristin fan I have to tell you she is not just in a commercial, she is now the official Old Navy spokesperson, the biggest thing on Broadway right now, sold out Carnegie Hall, studied opera, has a perfect pitched voice, is in like 5 movies and the West Wing this year, has 2 CD's plus the WICKED soundtrack, plus the play CANDIDE on DVD which she'll star in again in Paris in 2006. She did not do work for E!, she's way too big for that, but she is doing Old Navy because it's fun, the pay ain't bad, she mostly enjoys comedy, and it keeps her from getting typecast. All this and she's a Christian who works her )*& off raising money for AIDS research. She's 4'11", weighs 98 lbs. and is a true size zero! And, yes, she is a HOTTIE!
